Course Outline:
PBS Professional is a robust workload management system supplying the features required to manage diverse workloads across a wide variety of environments. In this course, users will learn the fundamentals of PBS Professional and how to optimize its features by implementing hooks functionalities.
Students in this training course will first learn the fundamentals of PBS Professional, from installation to submitting jobs. We will discuss in-depth various PBS scheduling policies and observe how they work by providing lab exercises. Students will complete the class with a better understanding of how PBS Professionals works and to optimize their HPC complex.
Prerequisites:
A basic knowledge of Linux/UNIX operation system is required.
Goals and Objectives:
- Utilize job management and job arrays
- Recognize key aspects of PBS administration
- Configure the PBS server site and MOM site
- Configure the PBS scheduling site
